About Bonnie

Bonnie Phipps former preschool and Kindergarten teacher, has been performing and recording for children for over 25 years. She won several Parent’s Choice Awards and National Parenting Awards for her recordings for children, has received “Best Children’s Performer” award by the Colorado Parent magazine’s readers poll, and has been written up in Entertainment Weekly. Bonnie performs in schools, libraries and theaters across the nation, and has been a featured artist on the Colorado Chautauqua Tour sponsored by the Colorado Arts Council. She also has done a number of Artist in Residencies in public schools in Colorado. Bonnie is a multiple National Autoharp Champion, and has published two music books with Alfred Publishing Company.

Bonnie toured for 20 years with The Elastic Band, who performed exclusively for young audiences. They were among the select few to be presented at the 1989 International Showcase of Performing Artists for Young People. A few of the band’s performance highlights include concerts for the Tampa Bay Performance Arts Center (FL), the Lincoln Center (CO), the Maui Philharmonic (HI), Bridges Auditorium (CA), the Richmond Children’s Festival (VA), and the Guam Association for the Education of Young Children.
